<fact>On completing his architectural training at the University of Tasmania, James undertook a further three-year period of study at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Theatre and Film Design. This additional period of study was shared with work experiences in Australia and the USA.
James' work experience included international and national firms.  He spent time with the renowned Japanese firm Hideto Horiike + Associates in Japan, San Francisco, Sydney and Honolulu. On an invitation to design a major commercial and retail project in Jakarta, James Fitzpatrick joined Rice Daubney. This relationship as an Associate Director in the practice extended for a period of eight years, and involved work on and input to a full range of commercial, residential, retail, and specialist building typographies.
James specialised in the development of initial concepts, imagery and planning. The application of clear ideas combined with well-defined geometric and environmentally sensitive responses, has positioned James Fitzpatrick as a leader in the design community.
His approach is focused on innovative property based solutions, to design buildings for people, in combination with a strong understanding of technology, ecology, environment, financial considerations, construction and longevity.  He seeks to ally an ideal architecture that responds in positive ways to enriching the human experience, while not ignoring the commercial goals that must apply throughout the project.
Continual research and travel result in requests for James to contribute to industry and educational papers, including invited assessment of projects, as well as aesthetic, technical and expert advice to many client bases. This expertise continues through the development of buildings, building components, and industrial and product development.</fact>

<name>Simon Clarke</name>

<fact>On completion of his architectural training in 1987 at the University of New South Wales, Simon honed his documentation and administration skills, as a senior project architect on several major commercial projects. He was also involved in the day-to-day management of smaller projects in the same practices, in addition to being responsible for the development of project management, project monitoring and QA systems.
Flowing from Simon's experience in design management, all projects within fitzpatrick+partners are continually monitored to maintain high levels of accuracy, co-ordination and detail, including day-to-day cost and programme monitoring, that in turn, assure a seamless flow to the project construction stage.
Simon's skill at developing respected relationships with project consultants, construction managers, sub contractors, and individual workers directly contributes to the success of all f + p projects.
Applying systems developed over decades of experience, each project is carefully monitored on a week-by-week basis to guarantee that all internal and external deadlines and budgets are continually met. This and associated reporting systems assist our client bodies in confirming their project receives the attention to detail that it deserves.
All of which ensures the integrity and quality of the design product is accurately and painlessly transferred into a built product.
Simon regularly undertakes courses to avail him of the latest thinking in the development of building systems, contractual arrangements and design and construction standards.
Simon is a registered Architect in NSW, and the Nominated Architect for fitzpatrick+partners (No 7808).</fact>

<name>Nick Sissons</name>

<fact>Nick Sissons was born in the UK in 1971.  He studied architecture at the University of Technology, Sydney, graduating in 1997 with honours. During his degree, Nick worked with Peddle Thorp and Walker and McConnel Smith and Johnson. Nick was the recipient of the James Hardie Scholarship and was an HPM design Award winner.
Upon completion of his degree, he worked with 2002 Pritzker Prize awarded Glenn Murcutt on the Fletcher Page House, Kangaroo Valley, in rural New South Wales. In 1997, Nick travelled overland by motorcycle from Sydney to London where he joined Foster and Partners. He worked on the Gargoyle Wharf Apartments, Wandsworth and various competitions including the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.  After this, for three years, Nick worked on the TAG McLaren Headquarters project seeing it through to completion (he was responsible for the entire building envelope).
In 2001, Nick completed a Diploma of Practice Management at the Bartlett, University College London, and subsequently became a UK/ EU registered architect and member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Next, Nick worked on the Deutsche Bank tower at 126 Phillip Street, Sydney (he was responsible for the ground level lobbies and public areas).
In 2003, Nick returned to Sydney via a 3 month study tour of Europe and USA and joined Crone Partners Architecture Studios and became a Practice Director. Nick was responsible for the competition winning Sky Vue development at 413 George Street, the new 5 star Allianz Centre and the AIG building at Smith Street Parramatta.
He is also responsible for the Old Emu Brewery development in Perth.
Nick is a registered Architect in NSW and a member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. He has been a design tutor at UTS, UNSW and Sydney University.</fact>

<name>Nicholas Bandounas</name>

<fact>Nicholas has over 10 years architectural experience and has been exposed to all aspects of the industry.
In his early years, Nicholas worked mainly on high-end residential projects and competitions for a small boutique firm, allowing him to develop strong first principle design and detail skills. He then moved to the other end of the spectrum and joined Woods Bagot, where he worked on large scale projects for 4 years, including stadiums, masterplans, commercial buildings, towers, public buildings and design competitions.
Nicholas has been involved in several awards including, the 2006 Urban TaskForce Awards, Best overall building, and 2000 RTA pedestrian bridge competition (commendation). He was also the recipient of the 2004 RAIA Design Medal (commendation) and 2004 Peter Maccullum Practice Price (commendation).
Nicholas joined fitzpatrick+partners in 2004 and has been involved in the design, design development and documentation of several projects. Nicholas' work explores the relationship between the understanding of built form, nature, materials and the complexities this entails. The end result of which is a crafted tectonic solution. He is also one of the studios leaders on the GreenStar rating system, which assesses the impact of the built form on the environment.
Nicholas' strong design skills combined with his technical abilities puts him in a unique position to manage the architectural process from inception to completion, allowing him to motivate his team and focus each individual's skills to a common goal.
Nicholas has developed strong client relationships, using his communication skills and knowledge to ensure the built product maintains the strength of the original design concepts while appreciating the realities of the commercial market.</fact>

<fact>Ray has approximately 14 years industry experience in Australia and New Zealand, where he worked on a range of small scale domestic and commercial projects before moving to Australia in 1998.
Since then Ray has spent 2 years working at Krikis Tayler Architects, 18 months at Nation Fender Katsalidis/Crone Nation and 3 years at Woods Bagot. He has worked on a wide range of medium to large scale commercial, residential, civic and health projects, from design development to documentation and services during construction.</fact>

<fact>Kiran graduated from Bachelor of Architecture at UNSW in 2003 after completing her Bachelor of Science in Architecture at UTS. For the duration of her studies Kiran worked full time in the architectural field; her main employment being Crone Partners Architectural Studios where she gained considerable experience working on large scale high rise development for both residential and commercial use based mainly in Australia and Dubai.  Projects include Latitude World Square, Sydney, 2 Park Street Sydney and Marina Place, Dubai.
Some of the projects Kiran has been working on at fitzpatrick+partners are:  Bishops See, Perth, Griffin Development, Perth, Lot 6016 Norwest Business Park and Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park.</fact>
