About

About
Led by partners James Fitzpatrick, Paul Reidy and Rod Pindar, our studio has gained a reputation for tackling complexity by delivering unique, high quality and environmentally conscious buildings.

Throughout our history we have been fortunate to work across a broad range of scales and typologies. From master plans to intricate joinery details, we feel equally adept working on single residences as we do on city defining towers.

We see each project as an opportunity to learn, to research and to innovate. We seek to continually deepen our understanding of our clients needs, collaborating and guiding them through the design and planning process as we deliver outcomes that continually exceed their aspirations.

Above all, we enjoy what we do and have built a team that shares a passion for architecture and the built environment. This has created a culture of innovation where we question the status quo in search of the best outcomes.

Our projects aim to give more than they take. To achieve this, we draw on four principles that guide our process.

Our projects aim to give more than they take. To achieve this, we draw on four principles that guide our process.

Principles

Listen to Understand

Connection

We understand that the success of our projects relies on our ability to build meaningful connections with the people and communities we work alongside. Whether its through connecting to Country, our clients or within the studio, we believe that a deeper understanding makes for more impactful work.

Design for Tomorrow

Regenerative

We believe architecture has the power to create a better future, it’s what drives us to do our best work. We pioneer regenerative design principles that give back to our communities and advance our responsibility to the environment.

The Art of Building

Craftsmanship

At our core is a belief in the ‘Art of Building’ where craftsmanship, attention to detail and the pursuit of excellence defines the work we do. When successfully incorporated into buildings, these details create an immersive experience, allowing us to impact lives on a daily basis.

Continuous Exploration

Innovation

Our industry is continuously evolving and as a result we embrace research, innovation and experimentation as critical parts of our design process. Taking a beginners mindset and solving complex problems with unique solutions is part of our DNA.

Across Masterplanning, Architecture and Interiors we design for human joy and delight.

Sustainable Future

Creating a sustainable future is the challenge of our generation. As architects, we are in a unique position to affect the built environment on a scale that can make a significant impact on our planet. We believe that it is our responsibility to provide ethical, thoughtful, environmentally sensitive and well designed buildings for the benefit of our clients, our community, and our planet.

Architects Declare

We are proud signatories of Architects Declare and play an active role in the organisation. We use the 12 guiding principles to drive our environmental and social sustainability initiatives - actively participating and sharing knowledge with our peers to further the profession as a whole.

Knowledge Sharing

Our most important objective is for all of our projects to achieve net zero carbon by 2030

Sustainability Action Plan

Reconciliation

Reconciliation

Designing with Country

We are utilising the process of developing our initial Reconciliation Action Plan to further our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  We see this as both appropriate and essential as participants in contemporary Australian civil society, particularly in a time between the invitation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its hopeful impact on the wider Australian society through a successful referendum. We see our part in this process from both our role as an Australian business operating in this time and from a design perspective as Architects contributing to the built environment of Country.
