Gosford Health & Well-Being Precinct

Gosford HWP is a significant component of the expansion of Gosford Hospital, creating the new arrival point for the hospital and opening the way for future expansion of the Hospital Campus across Holden Street and to the east.

A combined vehicle drop-off and car park entry provides a single, visible and identifiable entrance for the upgraded hospital precinct.

The heart of the HWP is the new pedestrian plaza incorporating retail and significant public domain works, including the pedestrianisation of Holden Street, providing much needed landscaping and amenity for the local community.

The project accommodates health and government-related infrastructure necessary to meet both current and projected future demand including the Central Coast Research Institute (CCRI) and University of Newcastle Central Coast Clinical School (UONCCCS).

The closure of Holden Street to public vehicles established a long-term plan for the future expansion of health services and allows the existing hospital to be properly integrated with the HWP, which also incorporates a new 800-vehicle MSCP over six levels.
