Rhodes peninsula’s defining characteristic has always been its relationship with Sydney Harbour. For the Wangal the harbour was a place of plenty and a key corridor.

Our aim was a built form that brings maximum connection to the water to residents and the wider community while optimising yield.

The creation of 640 apartments in five buildings that together create a connected sense of community lies at the heart of this proposal. Landscape and water spaces seek to enrich the lives of the inhabitants while also providing additional communal areas of connection and community.

Defining a built form that brings maximum connection to the waters of Sydney Harbour as they stretch to the city skyline in the east is the primary goal of the projects composition and architecture.

The proposed design is heavily informed by the Walk on Country and the Working Indigenous Design Principles from Balarinji.
